Thanks for the write up. Interesting background to the watch developments. Wonder what will happen to the future of the Z series.

However, value is in the eye of the beholder. The brothers have achieved unquestionable financial success, and the company has been their vehicle to achieve this end. As far as legacies are concerned & fodder for song-writing, that would be another value system. Sustaining this endeavour would require different long term strategies, and value system. Long live the independents! Just my two cents worth.

much (although the name is kinda scary in its own way), but I am sure that one of the brothers did not say 'geez, I have this really nice private equity group willing to back me and that is why I have to kill you' (figuratively of course). You allude, but...

Running Harry Winston in a less commercial way requires a different strategy and value system. I must admire the new Harry Winston for the commercial success that it is and will be, but as Purists we all want something more noble don't we? - SJX
