Cartier

As we discussed the latest Tortue Monopoussoir, here is one I saw some 20 years ago, at the Cartier Paris Boutique... One of my very favorite Cartier, by the way. Original, nice, elegant, charming... And this movement, shared by some other brands. Best, N...  

But for that, I would really love this watch

I considered it when it was not even double digit prices... Maybe I found it too baroque but very unique nevertheless.

Enjoyed it thoroughly, and eventually sold it for multiples of what I paid. One of my few financially savvy watch moves!

sometimes we win, sometimes we get back what we paid (my experience at least) financially watches are much better investments than wine, where all you get in return is a headache

But a good friend who is a vintage Rolex nutcase said I was being stupid because the big XII looked so clownish on the dial. I regretted But that’s the beauty and curse of being a collector. We win some and we lose some. At the end of the day we hope to w...
