Geneva Seal?

Jun 09, 2009,09:09 AM

Hello Patrick,

I am just curious about your comments on the Geneva-sealed movement in the LUC Twist being the "determining" factor over these two versions of the Twist. Apart from the more decorated rotor and the swan neck regulator in the 1.96, I really can't tell the difference between the two movements. Granted that I haven't seen both watches in the metal and I am only comparing from the photos posted in this particular post.

Seems to me the Cal 96T in the Tech Twist is based on the 9.96 in the QF which is also a well-finished movement sans Geneva seal.

Would be grateful if you could share more of what/where you see are the differences between the two movements in these two latest Twist.

Sincerely,

Tat

P/S My vote goes to the Tech Twist. Looks uber-cool ;-)

I love the metallic blue of the Tech Twist. Very cool! The color against the white metal is delicious! Great design choices from Chopard! Cheers, Daos

Agree, Kong

The Tech Twist has to be seen in the flesh. Surprising watch. Will try to have an eye on it. Best, and thanks! Nicolas

Brilliant !

Thanks Kong. 1.96 with micro rotor is a stunning piece of machinery !

I like the Tech Twist, but the LUC Twist is the wise man's choice.

The value of a watch is really in the movement; and the geneva-sealed LUC Twist is the watch that wins in that category. One will notice it even has a swan neck spring regulator. The futuristic Tech Twist is very modern, but the movement finishing just is...

I imagine the LUC Twist with Geneva Seal is different than Tech Twist

I think overall the LUC Twist is probably the more classic watch. The Tech Twist may not stand the test of time but is definitely a modern watch today. However, maybe 20 years down the line, the LUC Twist may still be considered the more acceptable watch....

The blue version....

reminds me of the De Bethune look(especially the hands reminds me of the DW2).Also the gray version a little bit.Is it just me?Maybe a little trend in watchmaking!Yours,Mo.

Metallic Blue Tech Twist Only Because I am Biased

and already have a monochromatic dial Tech Twist! I can't wait to see it in the metal though and see if the blue is too much.

Outnumbered but still hangin' in there......

I choose the 'classic' Twist 2009. LIKES Unlike all the uber-cool urbane and chic boys who 'came out' for the Tech Twist 2009, I am drawn to the subtle harmony of the ostensibly plainer model. But further inspection will reveal the juxtaposition of lines ...

It has to be Clasic Twist 2009

I have to agree with MTF. The 1.96 movement is well finished whether with Geneva Seal or not. As I can't afford Dufour's simplicity, Classic Twist would be a decent alternative. Regards Ling

The classics are beautiful!

The off-center second dial provides contemporary styling to the classic design. Beautiful in-house movement, painstaking finishing, as always. Thanks for sharing Kong. Jon

No message body

The Tech Twist is one of the few avant-garde pieces of contemporaneous watchmaking…
